One good turn deserves another.
Kind Turn is a small group of volunteers who give a few hours a week to help the people around us with everyday things. Nothing grand. Just neighbours looking out for neighbours.
About us
We started as a handful of friends who kept running the same errands for the same elderly neighbours and decided to get a little more organised about it. Today we are an informal circle of volunteers. We have no office and no staff, only a shared calendar and a habit of saying yes when someone asks.
The idea is simple: when somebody does you a good turn, pass one on. It does not have to go back to the same person.
What we help with
- ErrandsGroceries, the pharmacy, the post office, for people who find it hard to get out.
- Small repairsA dripping tap, a wobbly shelf, a light bulb that is out of reach.
- CompanyA cup of tea and a chat, a walk around the block, a lift to an appointment.
- Paperwork and screensReading a confusing letter, setting up a phone, making a video call to family.
Lending a hand
If you have an hour to spare now and then, we would be glad to hear from you. There is no minimum commitment and no experience needed. Tell us roughly where you are and what you enjoy doing, and we will let you know when something comes up nearby.
We are an informal volunteer group. We do not collect money and we do not charge for anything we do.
Contact
The easiest way to reach us is by email: hello@kindturn.org. We are all volunteers, so a reply can take a few days.
